Generational Diversity: Working with Cross Generational Teams

Train the Trainer

June 26, 2009 - Northern California

or August 11, 2009 - Southern California

This is the first time in America’s history that we have four generations working side by side in the workplace. What an amazing experience for everyone in the workforce…..or is it? Cross-generational teams face many challenges. This can affect time management, conflict management, and overall productivity.

How do managers and staff foster a good working relationship between generations? One size does not fit all when working across generations. Learn how to deliver and market material on this hot new topic! If you are conducting contract training, community services or other workforce development functions for the Community Colleges, you will not want to miss this opportunity to:

  • Obtain training content and methods covering the definition of each of the four generations and their workplace characteristics.
  • Understand what challenges may arise in a cross-generational team and how to minimize sources of generational conflict.
  • Recognize what motivates each generation and how they define success.
  • Appreciate and gain respect for what is important to each generation.
  • Receive a complete binder with the 8-hour module of instruction and a CD-ROM.

Over 300 central California business professionals have already completed the Generational Diversity training through the Merced College Workplace Learning Resource Center!
