FCS FLASH: Start Small to Win Big
Success Magazine is sponsoring the Start Small Win Big Challenge to encourage and support entrepreneurs and start-ups. Whether your students are “would be” entrepreneurs or just looking to be successful in your class, the success challenge principles will equally apply. If your students want to earn a certificate or degree, open a business, or save money to buy a car the steps to success are the same. Students must define what they want, set SMART goals and take the action steps that will help them get there. While many students may believe these steps need to be giant steps, in truth identifying and taking “baby steps” is really the secret to great success. Students may have 10 minutes or 10 dollars to work with, but 10 minutes a day or 10 dollars a week adds up over several months or years. Challenge your students to come up with some small steps they can take each day to help them achieve their big goals.
