Additional Online Resources and Loan Repayment Funds Now Available

The Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, Healthcare Workforce Development Division (HWDD) is proud to announce new online resources for students looking toward a healthcare career and additional opportunities for loan repayment for primary care, dental, and mental health clinicians.

 

NEW ONLINE RESOURCES

A searchable list of approximately 100 scholarships is now online. The listing includes all scholarship details, including application deadlines. Also available is a Calendar of Events which provides information on upcoming health workforce related career fairs, job trainings, conferences, and other opportunities.

It is hoped that these resources will allow us to better communicate with our stakeholders, partners, and students interested in health career or health career advancement.

NEW LOAN REPAYMENT FUNDS

Additional funding is now available for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program (LRP). This program provides up to $50,000 to clinicians for two years of service at an approved site in a Health Professional Shortage Area. You can apply if you are already working at an approved site or seeking employment at an approved site.

Nationally, $200 million in additional funding by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is available. Don’t hesitate! Applications are being accepted now through September 30, 2010 or until funds are expended.
