New! Environmental Scan Release
By 2014, Los Angeles and Orange Counties are projecting more than 1,500 job openings for Medical Records and Health Information Technicians. This represents 866 more openings than students who will complete local programs.
The Health Information Technology (HIT) scan includes an introduction to health information technology and detailed information on occupations, employers, existing training programs and workforce development needs.
The report can be used to align existing community college programs with industry needs, start a new course or program to meet the workforce demand, and to enhance grant proposals for resource development.
