Grant Opportunities

 

Requests are now being solicited for Mini-Grant funds of up to $10,000 from the 2008-2009 Business Education/Industry Collaborative grant.

The grant award specified in this Request for Application (RFA) is for the Business/Industry Collaborative for the 2008-2009 academic year.  The funding source is VTEA Title 1B State Leadership Funds.  Mini-Grant awards are available in amounts up to $10,000.  All projects must involve the business community and when appropriate, secondary education.  However, this year's grant objectives include a research project to create data for a Master Plan and the identification of business related student organizations active at system institutions.

BIC Grant Objectives
The primary objectives of the Statewide Discipline/Industry Collaborative for the Business/CIS Education Mini-Grants are to (1) develop new and/or revised curriculum (2) provide staff development opportunities  (3) promote student activities and (4) develop a three year strategic plan.  Therefore, Mini-Grants should follow the same objectives.

Eligible Applicants
Faculty from the 110 institutions in the California Community College System, companies with business training expertise, independent contractors with desired expertise.



Application Selection Process

 

Log on to http://www.calbusinessed.org  to access the Mini-Grant 2008-09 RFA and application packet.  

The application packet has the following parts:  Specifications and Instructions, Face Sheet, Narrative, Workplan, and Budget Sheet.  The applications are limited to a maximum of four pages.  Face Sheet and Budget pages do not count against the four-page limit.
