Below are the criteria for each award category. The individual making the nomination will describe how the nominee meets two or more of the criteria established for the award. This narrative will be the primary source used by the selection committee to determine eligibility for the award and to select recipients. A minimum of one paragraph is desired. Nominees do not need to meet all criteria.
Excellence in Leadership Criteria
- Advance regional goals through a commitment and passion for regional work
- Motivate and inspire others toward action and professional excellence
- Engage in or leads local, regional, and/or statewide activities and initiatives
- Serve as a mentor to others
- Implement creative solutions and thinks outside of the box
- Lead and/or establish new initiatives
- Develop or establish an effective practice or program resulting in measurable positive changes
Excellence in Partnership Criteria
- Advance work-based learning opportunities, including internships and apprenticeships
- Collaborate with career technical education faculty and colleges to develop programs and curricula with the skills that industry demands
- Support development of quality career technical education faculty
- Support general career technical education efforts
- Support sustainability and incentivizing of career technical education in alignment with labor market need
Excellence in Teaching Criteria
- Foster strong partnership with key stakeholders, including industry and other educational institutions
- Demonstrate the ideals of community service through leadership and action
- Staying ahead of the curve by embedding new and emerging technology and trends into their curriculum
- Empower and motivate students to achieve their full potential by encouraging or developing activities that promote student success
- Engage in regional or statewide activities
- Demonstrate success in moving strong workforce metrics
